About
I'm a Ph.D. candidate in Fintech at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), advised by Xuechao Wang. Since April 2026 I have been a visiting scholar at the Siebel School of Computing and Data Science, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, hosted by Ling Ren. My research interests are blockchain, consensus protocols and distributed computing. I received a Distinguished Paper Award at ACM CCS 2025.
Before starting my Ph.D., I spent five years in industry, at Ant Group in Shanghai and then at Alibaba in Guangzhou. I hold an M.S. in Circuits and Systems from Fudan University and a B.S. in Electronic Engineering and Information Science from University of Science and Technology of China.
If you're interested in collaborating, feel free to write to me at qyu100@connect.hkust-gz.edu.cn.
I am on the job market this year, looking for faculty and postdoctoral positions starting in 2027.
